William “Billy” Spikes, 90, of St. Marys, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026. He was born on October 13, 1935, in Nashville, Georgia, to Henry and Gola Spikes.
Billy shared 71 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Faye Geiger Spikes. Billy’s greatest blessing was the life he shared with Faye and the family they built together.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his wife and children deeply and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. His great-grandchildren were truly his pride and joy. His family was one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Billy worked for Gilman Paper Company, Kraft Bag Division, where he served as a supervisor for 31 years. He was also very involved in the Church of God community throughout his life. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he especially enjoyed attending gospel sings and listening to gospel music.
Billy enjoyed the simple things in life, time with his family, working on lawn mowers, and fishing. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, devotion, and, most importantly, love for his family.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Faye Geiger Spikes; his children, Rusty (Sherry) Spikes and Deanna (Rick) Gonzales; his grandchildren, Taylor (William) Shaffer, Rodney Drawdy, Lindsey (Andrew) Sanes, Jessica (Erik) Lucas, and Chris (Christine) Gonzales; and his great-grandchildren, Laney Bouley, Sutton Shaffer, Carter Sanes, Brody Sanes, Clae Gonzales, Evie Lucas, and Ray Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Spikes; his mother, Gola Spikes; his brother, Johnny Spikes; and his sister, Minnie Lee.
While his family will miss him more than words can express, they find comfort in knowing that he is at peace in Heaven and perhaps has already found the best fishing spot there.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 18, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM at the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home - Camden Chapel. Funeral services will be held the same day beginning at noon. Burial will be in Brickyard Cemetery near Hilliard, Florida.
Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest registry at www.srfhcamden.com. Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home - Camden Chapel is honored to serve the Spikes Family.
