Colquitt Russell Cox, 95, of Decatur, AL, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. He was born in Kingsland, GA on December 8, 1930, to the late Cleon Morgan Cox and Anna Bigalski Cox. Colquitt retired from Champion Paper in Courtland AL. While living in Georgia, Colquitt worked at Hercules in Brunswick, then Interstate Paper in Riceboro prior to moving to Alabama. Colquitt loved to be outdoors. He loved camping with his family in the mountains, hiking and traveling to various places, he also loved to fish. Colquitt was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA before moving to Alabama. He was then a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Decatur, AL.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife: Louise Henderson Cox; granddaughter: Allison Lauren King; and siblings: James H. Cox, Charles M. Cox, Benjamin Cox, Ida Jesse Cox Ott, Francis Cox Hardy and Cleon Cox, II.

He is survived by his children: Patricia R. Cox (Herbert Hardin), Teresa Cox King (Gary Champagne) and Clifton R. Cox (Donna); grandchildren: Mark R. Peterson, Jennifer King Wynn (Ken) , Jake King (Kristin) and Tiffany Woodward; great-grandchildren: Kayla Wynn, Hayden Wynn, Lily King, Cali Warnick (Caleb) and Raymond Woodward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home – Camden Chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, September 18, 2026. A graveside service will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, GA.
