John Maloy Tyre, 89, of St. Marys, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2026. He was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia on February 6, 1937, to the late Walton Tyre and Mildred E. Tyre. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Marys F&AM member 109, Eastern Star and Shriners.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Jean Tyre; and brother: Joseph “Red” Tyre.

He is survived by his step-children: Nicy Pritchard and Dee Johnson (David); grandchildren: Van Pritchard, Jennifer Pritchard, Kayla Johnson (Tiffany), and Haleigh Carter (Jake); great-grandchildren: Amber Lord (Michael), John Sheffield, Bethany Sheffield, Savannah Pritchard (Andrew), Hannah Pritchard (Noah), Christina Pritchard (Joey), Boe Carter, Cheyenne Carter, and Serenity Woods; great-great-grandchildren: Elliana Sheffield, Elliott Sheffield, Azrael Sheffield, Elijah Prichard, Asher Thompson, and Enzo Bardon; and nephew: Joe Tyre (Karen).

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home- Camden Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
