Maria Monserrate Almodovar Luciano, 82, of Barceloneta, PR passed away on July 23, 2026, at her home in St. Marys, GA.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Friday July 31, 2026, at Shepard Roberson Funeral Home, 935 King Avenue, Kingsland, GA, 31548 (formerly Coastal Funeral Home). A brief service will be held thereafter.

Maria was born in Sabana Grande, PR to Abigail Almodovar and Edwina Santiago on September 10, 1943. She married Angel Gonzalez. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from Sacred Heart University in San Juan, PR.

Maria is preceded in passing by her life-long friend, Aida Arroyo, and her estranged husband. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Anna Marie Snyder and husband George Henry Snyder III, Aida Yevette Peel and Wanda Rodriguez, her grandchildren Bianca Maria Bates and husband Jonathan Bates, George Henry Snyder IV, Aida Maria Peel, Tony Joe Lleras, Lucy Li Lleras, her great-grandchildren Gabriel Vincent Haffey, Michael Vincent Haffey Jr., Aubrey Maria Bates, Oliver Martinez and Lucialy Martinez, and her great-great-grandson Augustine Blue Haffey.

Maria’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. M. Abdelmalik and Heartland Hospice, including nurses Angela Hill RN, Andrew Mize RN and Roxie, our CNA. Special thanks is extended to Longhorn Steakhouse of Kingsland, GA, the staff of which was instrumental in the successful response to Maria’s stroke on July 13.
