Mary Foster Harless, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family.

Mary was born in Yakima, Washington, and spent her childhood growing up in the Toppenish and Wapato areas, where she formed the strong roots and values that would guide her throughout her life. She carried with her a deep appreciation for family, community, and resilience—qualities that defined her character and touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Harless, who passed away on November 23, 2012. Together, they built a life centered on love and partnership. Mary was also preceded in death by her son, John Carrigan, who passed away on November 16, 2020.

Mary was a devoted and loving mother to her surviving children: James Carrigan (Stacy), Jonathan J. Carrigan, and Jennifer Carrigan Day (Jeff Sr.). Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she provided unwavering support, guidance, and care throughout her children’s lives.

Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. Mary was a proud and caring grandmother to many, including Jonathan A. Carrigan, Ashley Carrigan, Matthew Carrigan, Sophia Carrigan, Marissa Day, Dean Day, Jeff Day Jr., Diana Screws (Kaz Sr.), Justin Day, and Danielle Day(RichardCampbell6/2/79-2/28/26). She welcomed both natural and bonus grandchildren into her life treating each of them with equal love and affection.

Mary was also blessed with a large and growing generation of great-grandchildren: Quinton Chaison, Hayla Morris, Lacey Day, Destiny Day, Jazmine Day, Alexis Screws, Autumn Simmons (Seth), Kaz Screws Jr., Nilynn Day, Caden Parker, Ryder Day, and Rayne Campbell. Each of them brought her immense joy, and she took great pride in watching her family continue to grow.

Throughout her life, Mary was known for her kindness, quiet strength, and generous spirit. She had a way of making people feel cared for, and her home was often a place of comfort. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or simple words of encouragement, she showed her love in countless meaningful ways.

Mary’s life was a testament to the importance of family, perseverance, and compassion. She faced life’s challenges with grace and remained a steady, loving presence for those around her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she so deeply cherished.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle heart, and the strong foundation she built for her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Prayer will be at Lawnwood Cemetery following the service. Services are being handled by Coastal Camden Funeral Home, 935 East King Avenue, Kingsland, Georgia 31548. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.

The family invites all who knew Mary to remember her not only with sorrow, but with gratitude for the love and light she brought into their lives.
